Whisper Wall
This modular noise-dampening installation was designed to be both functional and visually refined. It began with uniform 5"x5" EVA foam sheets—lightweight, durable, and ideal for acoustic purposes. By cutting strategic slits into each square, we introduced flexibility to the otherwise rigid material. These slits allowed the foam to bend and interlock, giving rise to a three-dimensional form that could grow and evolve as pieces were added.
As we linked the foam units together, a sculptural structure began to emerge—fluid and organic, yet grounded in a simple, repetitive module. The result was an ever-expanding installation that not only dampens ambient sound but also serves as an elegant space divider. Its porous and layered texture helps absorb noise, while its flowing form brings a sense of movement and softness to the space.
Designed to adapt, this installation invites infinite possibilities. Its modular nature allows it to be reconfigured, scaled, or extended, making it suitable for a wide range of environments—from offices and galleries to homes and public spaces.

Process to Product
We started by cutting EVA foam sheets into 5"x5" squares, then added slits to make them flexible. This allowed the flat pieces to bend and interlock, growing into a dynamic 3D installation.
We began linking the foam pieces through their slits, allowing them to interlock and curve naturally. As more pieces connected, they formed a flexible, growing module that expanded outward, evolving into an organic, continuous structure.
Once it reached full size, the structure served as a space divider and helped dampen sound.
