Safari Silhouettes

For this baby shower commission, we created a custom set of six backdrops designed to transform the event space into a safari-themed setting. The set featured two giraffe cutouts at 6 feet and 4 feet tall, a 4-foot zebra, two 6-foot arched backdrops wrapped in fabric prints, and a 3-foot hot air balloon backdrop.

The process started with material preparation, ensuring the wood was smooth by filling and sanding any imperfections. After priming and applying the base coat, we used our CNC machine to cut each piece with precision. The cutouts were then assembled and reinforced for stability. Fabric was carefully stretched and secured onto the arched panels, ensuring a clean, professional finish. Each element was hand-painted and detailed to enhance depth and realism.

The final result was a cohesive set of backdrops that perfectly matched the couple’s vision, setting the stage for a memorable celebration.

Materials used: Plywood +solid wood

Finish:
Paint + Sealer

After peeling off the vinyl, we touched up any imperfections by hand-painting the necessary areas.

With all the components ready for the event, we needed a sturdy way to hold them up. We used simple 2x4s along with brackets and custom 3D-printed plates to securely attach the boards to the wood.

We cut the plywood to size, filled imperfections, then primed, sanded, and painted the base color. After adding the vinyl layer, we loaded the sheets onto the CNC to cut the pockets with precision.
